We're going to try an outdoor venue this time so we'll meet at the rooftop bar at the Sundance Theater at Hilldale Mall, or in the middle bar if inclement weather.

We have over 50! members now but I've only met about 15 of you. Please come and share your experiences as a programmer in the Madison area. We have self-employed, contractors, work-from-home, entrepreneurs, code monkeys, web monkeys, java monkeys, database monkeys, pixel monkeys, you name it. Looking for a job? We have people looking for programmers too.

Things we've discussed are previous meetings:
* web technologies such as Google Wave
* scripting languages such as Ruby and Pythnon
* compiled languages such as Java, C#, and C++
* source control
* testing/debugging/QA
* working from home
* working in a cube farm

Etc. Ever interesting, never boring, something for everyone.

    @emmanuel: What kind of distributed key/value database are you interested in? Can you give us more detail? I may know a couple things about it.

    I wasn't surprised to hear about Mint; I had been hearing longtime rumors that the CEO was seen around campus (a green Jaguar with MINT plates is hard to miss) for quite a while now. I'm cautiously optmistic-- they have MY data too!

    Yeah I expect we'll get more people as they get reminders this week. Same schedule - though I think I'll want to eat a little sooner this time so maybe I'll try some of the food there while we chat.

    We currently have 3 people coming for this weeks meeting. It would be nice if others could RSVP. I am interested in talking to anyone who know a good deal about distributed key/value database for large services so ...let me know if you are a good candidate. Paul, is the schedule going to be the same as our last meeting, chit chat and dinner or .....
