Justin Hunter of Hexawise will be leading this discussion. Justin Hunter is the founder and CEO of Hexawise He led combination testing efforts at Accenture (a 180,000 person management consulting and IT firm), and decided to form Hexawise after a couple dozen combination testing projects made it clear that: (1) combination testing consistently demonstrated compelling efficiency and quality improvement benefits, and (2) that even sophisticated Fortune 100 firms were not yet using combination testing tools or methods. Here is the agenda: I. Welcome (Bob Galen) II. Introduction / Executive Summary (Justin Hunter) -What challenges does combination testing solve? -How does combination testing work? -Where can it be used and what benefits does it deliver? -What are critical success factors and general lessons learned from 2 dozen projects? -Why isn’t this method of test design more well known and more widespread? III. How the Proof of Concept Pilots Were Conducted (Bob Galen) -Structure of Pilots -- “2 testers in a room w/ Hexawise vs. 4 testers in a room w/out Hexawise” -Three hypotheses that were tested in each case study: -- No. 1 - Test design speed: savings of at least 30% -- No. 2 - Test execution speed: savings of at least 25% -- No. 3 - Cost of defect resolution: savings of at least 20% IV. Panelist Discussion -Summary of pilot projects - What kind of testing projects did the panelists choose? Why? -Findings for each of the three hypotheses - Were targeted savings achieved? -Ease of use / change management - How easy was it to learn? ...to implement? -Lessons learned - What went well? ... not so well? ... any surprises? -Turning the “speed v. quality” dial - How will panelists use the efficiencies created? -Implications - Will panelists use Hexawise again? Why? Why not? Where? Panelists include: Lester Bostic and Justin Hunter. Others coming soon....

Please join TISQA for a panel discussion where area Test Team Managers discuss the biggest challenges they face and strategies for how they approach them. The meeting will be in a panel format. Each of our invited Test Managers will have 5-10 minutes to describe their (Observations, Challenges, Strategies) framework for their groups. We'll round-robin through them quickly. Then we'll open the floor up for Q&A and discussion with attendees. What were looking for is to collect some group ideas on how to face our greatest leadership challenges in today's testing teams in the Triangle. Topics are sure to include: • Doing more with less; meeting expectations • Effectively dealing with outsource teams • This whole "agile thing" • Technology challenges • Effectively leading teams Right now the testing manager panel includes: Bob Galen – Independent Laric Copes – Peopleclick Cory Bryan – Itron Trey Rivers – RedHat - and possibly others

The Triangle Information Systems Quality Association (TISQA) is sponsoring our annual Software Testing conference on March 16 & 17, 2009.
This year's event theme is Agile Testing in the Carolinas. Our program surrounds topics that are relevant for:
• Traditional testers and managers who are looking for ideas to test better and faster • Software Developers who are looking for ideas surrounding Unit and Test-Driven Development techniques in Agile and non-Agile contexts • Agile testers who are looking to take their `game' to the next level • Development and Test Managers and Directors who are looking for better methods to deliver high quality & value—quickly!
We think the conference program has something value for all of you.
We're also honored to have invited Keynotes and Tutorials by Lisa Crispin, Janet Gregory and Michael Bolton—
Lisa Crispin (ePlan Services) & Janet Gregory (Dragonfire) Lisa and Janet have literally written the book on Agile Testing, which was published by Addison Wesley in January 2009. Both are extremely respected and qualified agile testers. Lisa was also co-author of the 2002 XP Testing book that, to this day, serves as the leading advice for testers working in XP contexts.
Michael Bolton (Developsense) Michael is a contributing editor to Better Software magazine and a well know author, teacher, and writer on testing topics with a specialization on Exploratory Testing. He's a co-author of James Bach's Rapid Software Testing – Exploratory Testing course and is extremely well respected in our community.
In these tough economic times, we're extremely pleased to bring a World Class, cost-effective testing program right here to the heart of North Carolina. Please pass this around to your boss, colleagues and friends. For conference and registration information go to: http://tisqa.qaichap ter.org/ and download a copy of our brochure. It contains full program information and links for conference registration.
We're looking forward to seeing you at Agile Testing in the Carolinas! Please do not RSVP via Meetup for this event, but if you have any questions we will be happy to answer them..
