- Introduction
- I have a serious interest in finance, technical analysis, and trading system development. The software on the market doesn't do what I want it to, so I'm going to write my own.
- What do you want to do at these meetups?

Some help learning how to create data structures, efficient algorithms.
- What kind of programs do you like to create?

Working on pattern recognition/trading rules for market data. Have some ideas on how to do it, but guidance would be a big help!
- What do consider the best languages and why?

C--been around the longest, ports anywhere, and small (compared to c++) LISP--Lots of stats/scientific software uses functional programming for data analysis Perl--huge archive of code with CPAN.
- When and why did you start programming?

On and off for a few years, mostly with some VB script. Now working on C, and the stat language R. Want to pick up Perl and Common LISP, though.
- What languages and tools do you use?

Right now, C, with gcc. Played with perl a little bit as well. Wrote some calendar functions in VBscript.
